Professor Lee Badgett will share what she learned while working on her award-winning book, When Gay People Get Married: What Happens When Societies Legalize Same-Sex Marriage (NYU Press, 2010), looking at questions such as:
- Will gay people change marriage?
- Will marriage change gay people?
- Are we moving too fast?
A reception will follow the lecture.
M. V. Lee Badgett is Director of the Center for Public Policy & Administration and is a Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
This event is part of the "Equality Matters" series, sponsored by the UNC Program in Sexuality Studies. It is co-sponsored by the Department of History.
